Ever wondered what it would be like to play a round of Golf in Africa? The answers could either be completely normal or extremely outrageous! We are blessed to have a wide range of Wildlife in Africa and more often than not they show signs of human interest particularly when it comes fun and recreation to the point of sharing the golf course. We have compiled a list of strikingly different golf courses in South Africa to look out for when visiting our beautiful country.

LEOPARD CREEK GOLF COURSE

The Leopard Creek Course at the Kruger National Park in Mpumalanga is an incredible course that boasts innovative architecture and picturesque landscapes.  You’ll have your camera out throughout your game of golf, as much of the lakes are home to some special friends, like crocodiles, hippos, antelopes, buffalos and elephants. Don’t be surprised if you get held up along the way!

SKUKUZA GOLF COURSE

Up next, we have the Skukuza Golf Course also located in the Kruger National Park. The Skukuza Golf Club pride themselves in creating a close-to-nature experience for golfers. This is particularly evident when you realise that the course is not fenced at all. Make sure to keep your eyes open for hippos, impalas, warthogs and baboons to mention a few.

THE LOST CITY GOLF COURSE

The Lost City Golf Course is another interesting course located at Sun City in the North West. This amazing course offers a beautiful scenery, as well as a crocodile pit at the third hole! Don’t worry, the course is completely safe although you will have to keep a watch out for the “not so friendly” baboons, they sometimes try and take your belongings without asking.

KNYSNA GOLF CLUB

The Knysna Golf Club is located On the beautiful Garden Route and the course stretches along the banks of a lagoon and tidal inlets, filled with salt water, which attracts various species of birds including cormorants, spoonbills, little egrets and avocets.
